Having just passed by Notre Dame, a glance right and a meander down a wee street brought me to this ancient gem!
The lovely wistereia and coq's facade of this ancient aubèrge (hotel) and restaurant.
The boudoir'esqu interior is to die for! Take me back 400 years please.
Amazing velvets, tapestries, sconce lighting, wood paneling, deep windows.....
You can bump your head on the ceiling.....on your way to vins à la cave ( wine cave...)
This is a favourite of mine, closest to the Dennis Severs house in London.
The menu is equally as impressive and prices are a nice easy to palate treat. There is a beautiful patio.
XVIe siècle detail. Owners Odette and George will welcome you. http://www.auvieuxparis.fr/
